Dance at the Sculptors Dominion

The San Antonio Modern Dancers Co-Lab (MoDaCoLab) performed contemporary dances created for several of the 100 large-scale sculptures featured in the 5th Annual Sculptors Dominion International Outdoor Sculpture Invitational held on the beautiful grounds of “Villa del Carmen”.

Hot September Flurries

Four weeks of innovative dance in Austin, Texas.

This event, an official Contemporary Art Month event, featured contemporary choreographers from the Modern Dancers’ Co-Laboratory (Modacolab) merging with visual artists to create new work in both performative and exhibition modes. Featuring the work of visual artists Suzanne Paquette, Diane Mazur and Jennie Powers, with video designer Michael Bowyer. Work was also created inspired by the art of Missi Smith. Choreography by Shonna Walden Cooper, Jayne King, Kristina Kuest Mistry, Amber Ortega-Perez, Laura Vriend, and Christy Walsh.

At the end of the WIP (Works In Progress, Wednesdays In Performance) season, the curators assemble WIP Creme, a selection of some of the best performances of that year. Modacolab was invited to perform at this event, which is co-sponsored by San Antonio Dance Umbrella and Jumpstart Performance Theatre.
